It is quite common to employ a rain gutter in order to join two or more parasols together. This is particularly useful for larger canopies.
Please note that whilst a linking gutter will notionally prevent the ingress of rain water, they are not designed for a deluge, heavy rainfall, hail, sleet and snow.
